I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, from Campbell University in 2013. I completed my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in 2017. Throughout my educational training I gained experience working with a variety of clients in a private practice setting, facilitated multiple therapy groups for childrens/teens struggling with social skills, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. I have additional training and certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and trauma informed care as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

I am a therapist who strives to offer a safe and supportive space for individuals who are struggling with anxiety, life transitions, depression, history of trauma and neurodiversity. I understand that life can be overwhelming and that sometimes we need a little extra support to navigate the challenges that come our way. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can share their experiences without fear of being invalidated or re-traumatized.

About Me

Enduring difficult times often removes us from a sense of who we are or want to be. Our identities get lost as relationships come and go, and we transition through developmental stages. There is profound healing in reconnecting or finding with our true selves by showing compassion for the many parts that make up who we are.

I am passionate about supporting teens and young adults to deal with the complexities of life transitions, interpersonal effectiveness, unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety and emotion regulation. Navigating the developmental stages can be confusing and filled with complex issues. I use a combination of modalities including Psychoeducation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed and neurodiversity affirming therapy.I have an enthusiastic down to earth approach where I use these modalities to focus on your healing–incorporating some gentle, dark humor along the way. I also have developed a passion working with people who are neurodivergent, whose brains work differently. People with neurodivergence don’t always feel a sense of belonging, which can lead to miscommunication, increased depression and anxiety.

The Sun Will Rise

When I'm not in the office

Beyond the therapy room, you can find me making memories with my little one and family, diving into true crime shows, rewatching The Office, or reading a new thriller book (while staring at all the books on my “Therapist shelf”). I embrace and seek out authentic connections, laughter and new dance moves.
